Hi, I'm Saikat Roy

I'm a backend-leaning full stack engineer who builds REST APIs and web applications with Python and Django, and pairs them with React and Next.js frontends. Since 2020 I've worked across in-house product teams and freelance client work on Upwork — currently building the backend for a campus services platform serving university students in Bangladesh, while running WordPress and Shopify projects for freelance clients on the side.

A bit about me

Backend-leaning, full stack, and comfortable owning a project end to end.

I care about writing code that's readable and easy to operate: clear API boundaries, containerized deployments, and infrastructure that doesn't need babysitting. Outside of client work, I'm an open-source contributor and a reader — this site is itself built with Next.js and TypeScript, statically exported and deployed on Netlify.
